Bert Cooper Trail

Bert Cooper Trail (formerly Lake Hefner Trail) is 9.1 miles of paved trail around Oklahoma City’s best sailing lake. See sailboats, Lake Hefner Golf Course, Stars and Stripes Park, Lions’ Children’s Park, OKC Yacht Club and numerous East Wharf restaurants. There are fishing docks, boat ramps, picnic areas, and a remote-control aircraft field. Toilets and water fountains are available along the trail. Connects to North Grand Boulevard Trail and Hefner-Overholser Trail.

Chitwood Park

This 2.71 acre park commissioned in 1932 offers parking, a basketball court, pavilions with grills for rent, trails, a water fountain, a restroom, and a playground.

Draper Lake Trail

Completed in 2018, this ADA complient, $10 million trail circles Lake Draper for 13.5 miles on a moderately trafficked loop. It offers two way bicycle and pedestrian traffic, as well as the chance to see wildlife and three public art pieces. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips. Campsite available at Crosstimbers Campground. The Lake Stanley Draper Marina is located at 8301 SE 104th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73165.

E.C. Hafer Park

This 121 acre park commissioned in 1979 includes -1.5 miles of paved, multi-use trails -3 playgrounds -Volleyball court -Exercise Station -Kids' fishing pond -Stage -An athletic complex

Hefner-Overholser Trail

The Hefner-Overholser Trail offers a convenient connection between two of Oklahoma City's popular reservoirs. Most of the trail is dedicated trail space, with approximately 2 miles of on-street biking trail. To explore these lakes, you can hop on the Bert Cooper Trails at the northern trailhead or the Lake Overholser East Trail at the southern trailhead. The Hefner-Overholser Trail also provides access to the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge, a natural treasure of the city. The scenery on the southern half of the trail is fairly open, becoming densely residential as the trail approaches Lake Hefner. Along the way, the path traces the western border of the Wiley Post Airport, home to the Okie Derby (an airplane race) each August.

Lake Thunderbird State Park

Lake Thunderbird State Park encompasses nearly 2,000 acres in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, and provides a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors to Lake Thunderbird. Water enthusiasts can enjoy two marinas, nine boat ramps and two swim beaches, while those who prefer land can take part in hiking, mountain biking and nature trails. Deer archery and waterfowl hunting are available during the applicable seasons and in designated areas. For families visiting the state park, grab a picnic lunch and enjoy the playgrounds or dine at the seasonal restaurant. The state park also features a Nature Center, which displays native snakes and animals, furs and artifacts and offers educational programs throughout the year.
