About the Project
The purpose of KeepMovingOKC.org is to promote physical activity opportunities in Central Oklahoma. Our goal is to engage all residents in activities and events that will enhance their overall health and well-being. KeepMovingOKC.org seeks to serve as a resource for all residents. Primary target audiences include children, youth, and families, particularly those who may have limited access to such opportunities. Low cost or free activities are strongly encouraged. Preferred venues for physical activities are parks, trails and other locations or facilities that are open to the general public and not limited by membership.
The project is staffed and managed by Kristi Birk, KeepMovingOKC Manager, in collaboration with the OCCF Communications team and the Central Oklahoma Wellness Alliance. The KeepMovingOKC website is operated by Artsopolis, a community engagement platform.
Activities are displayed in an engaging, easy -to-use community calendar format that includes photos, interactive maps, and icons to show the cost of each activity and level of intensity.
Activity listings include important information to help the public understand what to expect from each activity or venue including “pet-friendly,” “what to bring,” and available amenities such as restrooms, water fountains, and equipment.
KeepMovingOKC categories include: free activities, kids and family centered events, fitness opportunities, virtual activities, parks and trails,
