Family owned and operated, Heinen Physical Therapy is a low volume clinic that strives to provide excellent patient care by listening to our patients concerns and developing effective treatment plans to alleviate pain, improve movement, and return patients to what they love doing. We’re a husband and wife team who received their Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Miami in south Florida-one of the top ten Physical Therapy schools in the nation.

Early in our careers, we both worked in high volume corporate clinics and have seen treatments become ineffective and people slip through the cracks because there’s just too many patients and not enough therapists. We started HeinenPT to break the mold and make PT how it should be! We utilize the most effective manual techniques, patient and diagnosis specific therapeutic exercise, and cutting edge technology to achieve our patients goals. Heinen Physical Therapy Staff

Dr. Brice Heinen, Co-owner and Senior Therapist

Brice Heinen, PT, DPT, CEAS, Cert. DN is a native Oklahoman from the NW OKC area. He attended Bishop McGuinness High School then was awarded an athletic scholarship for Rowing at Oklahoma City University. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicines Depart of Physical Therapy, one of the top ten programs in the nation.

Along with being a student athlete at OCU he was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Vice President of the Kinesiology Club for two years. He graduated from OCU in 2010 with honors as well as receiving the Department of Kinesiology Outstanding Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Studies.

In Miami, Dr. Heinen enjoyed spearfishing and diving and found time to achieve the level of Master Diver. He graduated with his DPT in 2013 with honors and received the Steven J. Rose Student Research Award for a study conducted while at the University. Dr. Heinen’s clinical rotation experiences include outpatient orthopedics and neurology.

Today, Dr. Heinen enjoys spending time wife his wife/business partner Dr. Lauren Heinen and playing with his daughter Kathryn. He’s still an avid diver, hunter, martial artist, and overall active lifestyle enthusiast.

Dr. Lauren A Heinen, Co-owner and Senior Therapist

Lauren Heinen, PT, DPT, CSCS, PMA-CPT is originally from New Jersey and moved to OKC in 2013. She graduated from undergraduate from the University of Delaware with a BS in Exercise Science, Physiology. During her undergrad days, she taught fitness classes for UD and was voted Instructor of the year in 2008!

From there, Dr. Heinen accepted a position in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Physical Therapy Program from which she graduated with honors. While in school, she studied and received certifications as a Certified Sport and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and as a Pilates Based Rehabilitation Specialist through Polestar Pilates, both of which she utilizes in her patient care today.

Dr. Heinen enjoys practicing Pilates, running and going to CrossFit classes in her spare time for fitness and to stay active. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband, Brice and daughter Kathryn and all their crazy animals.

Rachel Joiner, Physical Therapist Assistant

Rachel Joiner, PTA, NSAM as born in Tulsa, OK and grew up in Northeastern Oklahoma. She completed her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree in 2015 and is a NASM Certified personal trainer as well. She initially became interested in Physical Therapy while in college after spending time with her husbands brother-in-law who is also involved in the field. Previously, she competed as a professional wakeboarder. She enjoys spending time with her husband, riding dirt bikes, wakeboarding, working out, and playing with her two fur children.
