Registration Open: Youth Volleyball @ Edmond YMCA

Children will have the opportunity to learn the basic volleyball fundamentals such as underhand serving, setting, hitting, and digging in a non-competitive environment.

Did you know, originally called mintonette, volleyball was created by the YMCA? An experimental game, mintonette combined a variation of the badminton net with elements of basketball, the German game of fistball and handball.

The philosophy of YMCA youth sports programs is to use sports as a tool to develop each participant physically, mentally and spiritually.

ADMISSION INFO

All participants will need to purchase the new Gray and Teal YMCA All Sport jersey as the old Green and White jerseys will no longer be used or allowed. The new jerseys are $25.

– Cost for Household Members: $10

Coaches Meeting will be at 6:45 pm on Tuesday March 7, 2023. Meeting will be in person at your branch. The Edmond Sports Department will send out more information closer to the start of the season.

Registration Dates:12/6/22 to 2/14/23

Late Registration ($20+ to cost) 2/15/23 to 2/22/23

Practices Begin week of March 20, 2023 (1 practice per week). Coaches will determine the practice day, time and location. The YMCA will provide practice for one hour per week, either on site at the YMCA or a local off site facility.

Games Begin March 24/25 2023 (Games will be played on Friday & Saturday. Other weeknights may necessary). It will be an 8 game regular season. Travel to other YMCA’s or off site locations may be required.

Season will end by May 13 2023.
