Educational & Volunteer Event at Memorial Park

The City of Oklahoma City is hosting an informational session to share about rain gardens and stormwater, followed by a cleanup around Memorial Park.

OKC Parks was awarded a Community Challenge Grant from AARP to renovate two landscape beds in the Memorial Park parking lot into rain gardens. These rain gardens capture stormwater runoff from the parking lot, slow it down, and clean it before it moves downstream and eventually into Arcadia Lake. The parking lot also has a bioswale and pervious pavers from a previous project. Come join OKC Parks and partners to learn more about these sustainable practices.
