The goal of Walk the Parks is to promote health, wellness, and community by encouraging physical activity and highlighting free resources for all ages.
Bring your family, friends, pets, and walking shoes, and start walking on March 14, 2022!
10 of the 13 public parks in Moore have walking paths.
Participants registered for the 8-week program will walk daily/weekly, record their activity, and report at the end of each week via email, text, GroupMe app, or in person. Buster Bread, Fitness Manager for Moore Parks and Recreation, will facilitate the program by:
- posting parks and their amenities in a shared app and/or via email group or text group,
- sharing information about various walking apps that can assist with tracking,
- offering health and wellness tips, and conveying “group walk events” at various parks.
- providing motivation through acknowledgments of participant progress. This will include a weekly prize raffled throughout the 8-week program.
REGISTER TODAY! Program begins March 14 and Activity Tracking Forms are due the Sunday of each week by 6 pm. Tracking your activity is not a requirement, unless you wish to qualify for giveaways and performance acknowledgements. Questions? bbread@cityofmoore.com
