Lake Thunderbird State Park

Lake Thunderbird State Park encompasses nearly 2,000 acres in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, and provides a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors to Lake Thunderbird. Water enthusiasts can enjoy two marinas, nine boat ramps and two swim beaches, while those who prefer land can take part in hiking, mountain biking and nature trails. Deer archery and waterfowl hunting are available during the applicable seasons and in designated areas.

For families visiting the state park, grab a picnic lunch and enjoy the playgrounds or dine at the seasonal restaurant. The state park also features a Nature Center, which displays native snakes and animals, furs and artifacts and offers educational programs throughout the year.

The hours listed above are the operating times for Lake Thunderbird's park office, located on the north side of the lake at 13101 Alameda Drive. The park office will be closed on holidays including Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and President's Day.

The park is open for camping 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in designated camping areas.

Lake Thunderbird State Park Discovery Cove Nature Center's hours of operation are 9:30am-4:30pm Thursday through Saturday. Lake Thunderbird State Park Discovery Cove Nature Center is closed Sunday through Wednesday.

Equestrian trails are open daily from dawn until dusk.
