National Rebuilding Month exemplifies the mission of Rebuilding Together, helping to solve for the urgent need for safe homes and communities for everyone. Recognizing that unsafe or unhealthy living conditions at home account for many of the leading
Rebuilding Together, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, improves the living conditions of low income elderly homeowners in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area by making repairs and modifications to homes. The objectives of the program are to make homes safe, secure and weatherproof; to improve neighborhoods and foster neighborhood improvement by other residents; and to engage volunteers in a “hands-on” community improvement project. Repairs are made at no cost to the homeowners.
The homeowners we serve often have great needs. Rebuilding Together has limited resources. We do our best to give the homeowner reasonable expectations about what we can do. We are fair to our volunteers and do not ask them to do more than they can in the time they have agreed to work. The programs benefit everyone involved. Repairs allow elderly homeowners to remain living independently and safely in their homes, volunteers from all walks of life unite to rebuild the community while witnessing the impact of their labor, and our community becomes a stronger and better place to live.
Volunteering with Rebuilding Together OKC, Inc. is a unique experience that brings together individuals and groups from all sectors and associations. Volunteers work together to improve the quality of life for at-risk homeowners and are the backbone of the organization. You are at the heart of our work. We have requests every day for repairs, small and large, that cannot wait for big event days. If you have skills at fixing things and are willing to give us some time, please contact us here so we can work with your schedule and match you with homeowners in need
All volunteers are required to acknowledge and accept this waiver and this wellness policy before engaging in a volunteer effort with our organization. Volunteers under the age of eighteen (18) are required to submit waivers approved, signed and dated by a legal guardian before engaging in a volunteer effort with Rebuilding Together Oklahoma City, Inc.
